A Rocktopia / Fireworks Magazine album review by Mike Newdeck: Nebraska's Emphatic seem in essence to typify mainstream modern rock; lower register vocals, down-tuned guitar riffs, tub thumping drums and the almost obligatory hooks. Indeed Emphatic display all the traits of the truly great modern rock bands on one single record.
