A Rocktopia album review by Julian Handley: ‘Blood Alliance’ is the fifth full CD release from the UK’s premier melodic power metal sextet, ‘Power Quest’, and without doubt it’s their finest offering to date. The opening track, the instrumental ‘Battle Stations’ unleashes itself as a brutal, twisting, barrage of pompous, power metal, galloping through the speakers and setting the trend for the exquisite delights that follow. Next up is the suitably titled ‘Rising Anew‘, which sets off at a frenetic pace with duelling twin guitars going head to head with the incendiary device drumming, wrapped around beautifully layered keyboards, and kept on track with a stabilising bass unit, all of which are complemented by the vocal talents of Chitral “Chitty” Sompala.
